Student newspaper of the Tacoma Community College. This issue is numbered volume 18, number 5 and is eight pages.
This issue contains stories on a Trustee Day on Campus event; the Instructional Resource Center (with numerous photos); Veteran's Day; the United Way fund drive reaching its goal; an upcoming blood drive; an upcoming seminar on selecting and using computer systems and programming; smoking being banned in the student lounge; men's soccer team members Mark Berry, Valtyr Jonsson; the women's volleyball team losses to Clark and Centralia; science and horticulture instructor Frank Witt; a new undergraduate application fee for several state universities.
Also includes opinion/editorial pieces on a Board meeting takeover of the student lounge, the Asarco smelter, manipulation of the press; letters to the editor recounting the Great Depression in Tacoma, criticizing the Challenge; comics and illustrations; ads and classified ads; film review of Gallipoli; late score for men's soccer game.
Announcements include geology instructor Jack Hyde winning reelection to the Tacoma City Council; available scholarships; upcoming University of Puget Sound concerts including the Trinidad Tripoli Steel Band; a concert by classical Spanish guitarist Ron Hudson; additional prizes for the Outstanding Service to Students Awards; winter registration dates; the Commencement Bay Jazz Society concert series; campus visits by the IRS, St. Martin's College, Northwest Christian College, Pacific Lutheran University, and the University of Washington representatives; a resume writing workshop; summer jobs at Mt. Rainier National Park.
