This issue contains stories on the upcoming November election; the appointment of Director of Occupational Education Dr. Robert R. Rhule as interim president following Dr. Thornton Ford's resignation; Board of Trustees meeting news, including approval of additional funds for a microbiology lab; upcoming student senate elections; the Women's Studies and Services Center; the new availability of individual counseling from Volunteers In Service Program (VISP); the Health Services Center; the Financial Aids Office and job opportunities; the first graduation ceremony for the new nursing program; the visit of Japanese exchange students to TCC; the Miss Greater Pierce County Pageant; a new off-campus child care facility for TCC students at Fircrest Methodist Church; the anticipated naming of Frank Robinson as new Cleveland Indians manager, which would make him the first Black manager in major league baseball; new TCC Athletic Director Ed Fisher and coaching staff; planned intramural tournaments in golf, tennis, and bowling; the bowling and volleyball leagues; the beginning of cross country season and need for more team members; the TCC Library and how to use it.

Russo, Jr.; availability of legislature internship credits; a flu shot clinic; a screening of the Beatles film The Yellow Submarine; the TCC commuter ride board; Washington State Community Colleges literary magazine Mirror Northwest for sale in the bookstore; the upcoming drama production of John Brown's Body; a visit by University of Washington representatives; appointment of Shelly Waller to Rick Roney's student senate seat after his resignation; a concert by George Harrison and Ravi Shankar; open submissions for the College Student's Poetry Anthology; Hugh Downs speaking on "The Media and Ecological Crisis"; available student flight fares for international travel; the Royal Swedish Ballet performing in Seattle.
